I am proud to be a graduate of the Spruce Mountain school system. I received a world-class education from dedicated teachers who challenged me, supported me, and helped shape the person I am today. Every child in Jay, Livermore, and Livermore Falls deserves that same opportunity — and it is our responsibility to protect and strengthen the schools that make it possible.

Our students and teachers face real challenges: lingering COVID learning loss, the impacts of poverty in the classroom, and rising costs that strain local property taxpayers. But with the right priorities and partnerships, we can ensure our schools remain strong, innovative, and accessible to all.

My priorities for strengthening our schools:

  • Address COVID learning loss by expanding tutoring, after-school programs, summer learning, and targeted academic supports so students can catch up and thrive.

  • Confront poverty in our schools by strengthening access to nutrition programs, school-based mental health services, and community partnerships that help families meet basic needs.

  • Defend the state’s 55% commitment to funding public education — a promise that helps lift the burden off property taxpayers while ensuring schools have the resources they need.

  • Increase teacher and support staff pay so that we can recruit and retain the high-quality educators our students deserve. Strong schools depend on a strong, respected workforce.

  • Upgrade school facilities and technology to create safe, modern learning environments that prepare students for today’s economy.

A great education opens doors, builds strong communities, and gives every child a fair chance to succeed. I’m committed to ensuring that Spruce Mountain students — now and in the future — continue to receive the world-class education that shaped my own life.
