Our natural resources are at the heart of who we are. The forests, rivers, lakes, and trails that surround our communities are more than beautiful landscapes — they’re part of our identity and our way of life. Generations of local families have enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, ATV riding, snowmobiling, and countless outdoor traditions that bring us together and strengthen our connection to this place we call home.

Protecting these resources isn’t just about recreation — it’s about safeguarding our economy and keeping costs down for working families. When we maintain healthy forests, clean waterways, and resilient ecosystems, we reduce the risk of extreme weather events that drive up insurance rates and damage homes, businesses, and infrastructure. A strong environment means stronger, more affordable communities.

My priorities to protect the outdoors:

  • Protect access to the outdoors so future generations can continue hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and enjoying the traditions that define our region. The outdoors should be for all - not just wealthy land owners.

  • Support responsible land use and conservation practices that preserve wildlife habitat, keep our trails open, and maintain the health of our forests and waters.

  • Strengthen partnerships with local clubs and landowners who maintain ATV, snowmobile, and multi-use trail networks that contribute to recreation and tourism.

  • Promote environmental resiliency because preventing severe storms, floods, and droughts helps keep insurance costs down for families and small businesses.

  • Defend working lands and natural resources that sustain our economy, from forestry and recreation to tourism and outdoor sports.

Preserving our outdoor heritage is about honoring our past while protecting the future — ensuring that every resident can enjoy the land, water, and traditions that make our communities such special places to live. I’m committed to keeping them accessible, healthy, and thriving for generations to come.
